If you've been reading this blog, you already know how Mixicles can save a bottle of red wine that's started to turn (or that wasn't very good to begin with) by making a tasty red sangria out of it. Today we're highlighting the use of Mixicles to create a light and refreshing white sangria that's perfect for summer sipping.
This recipe is quick and easy, whether you make it by the glass or mix up an entire pitcher. For a single serving, place one cube each of Lavender Peach and Blueberry Lemon Basil Mixicles (found in our Floral and Essential Collections) in a glass, and top the cubes with chilled Pinot Grigio. (Other white wines work too, but we really like the way the crispness of Pinot Grigio plays off the citrus notes in these cubes.) If you'd like, you can add fresh blueberries and chopped peaches to the glass, as well as a splash of brandy or peach schnapps, and then top it off with something bubbly like Prosecco, club soda, or ginger ale.
If you’re having people over or looking forward to a leisurely sangria-sipping afternoon on the deck, place 4 cubes of each flavor in a pitcher and top with about half a bottle of white wine. Add the fruit and, if desired, the brandy or schnapps, stir, and refrigerate before serving to allow the flavors to blend. When ready to serve, pour the sangria over ice and top with the bubbly. Enjoy!
