A Back of the (Cocktail) Napkin Idea
We are longtime friends and former law partners with a shared passion for cocktails. It’s the craft behind them that fascinates us, as well as the taste. That’s what inspired our idea: bringing the craft and taste of a top-notch cocktail experience, easily and simply, into our homes.
Initially we experimented freezing into ice cubes all the ingredients that Jason used for his crowd-pleasing watermelon margaritas — a recipe he developed while bartending and waiting tables in college. Jen then put her Harvard education to novel use, envisioning a kaleidescope of cubes that could be the building blocks for any imaginable cocktail.
Thus our journey began . . . staying up late into the night after work, mixing and matching blends of fresh, locally sourced ingredients to find the right flavor combinations to create colorful gems that would be the foundation for wonderful beverage experiences.
Fate led us to Findlay Kitchen in Cincinnati, Ohio, a supportive environment for food entrepreneurs, which has helped equip us to start and grow our business. This thriving community has been instrumental in our journey to make our passion a reality.
